Single-tooth dental implant

A single-tooth dental implant is a modern and highly effective solution for restoring a missing tooth in both aesthetics and function. With this technique, the dentist places a titanium implant into the jawbone to replace the lost natural tooth root. Titanium implants have been proven to be safe, highly biocompatible, and harmless to the body.
Once the implant has stabilized and integrated with the bone, a porcelain crown is attached on top, perfectly recreating the shape and function of a natural tooth. This method not only restores chewing ability but also helps maintain a confident, radiant smile. It is an optimal solution for those seeking a safe, durable, and long-term replacement for a missing tooth.

Who should consider a single-tooth dental implant?

Single-tooth implant placement is suitable for individuals who have lost one tooth and wish to restore it in a safe and long-lasting way. However, not everyone is a candidate. Below are the appropriate cases and necessary conditions:

  • People who have lost all teeth in the upper or lower jaw:

People who have lost all their teeth and wish to restore aesthetics and chewing function similar to natural teeth.

  • People who have lost most of the teeth on one dental arch:

Even if a few teeth remain, if they are not healthy or functional, the dentist may recommend extraction and full-arch implant placement.

  • People who experience difficulty with removable dentures:

Dental implants help prevent jawbone resorption, maintaining facial structure and preventing facial changes caused by tooth loss.

  • People who want to improve jawbone health:

Dental implants help prevent jawbone resorption, maintaining facial structure and preventing facial changes caused by tooth loss.

  • People who want comprehensive oral rehabilitation:

This solution not only restores aesthetics but also improves chewing function, speech, and overall health.

Single Dental Implant
The secret to maintaining a confident smile

Full-arch implant treatment is becoming the top choice for people who have lost all their teeth, not only for its aesthetic results but also for its outstanding health benefits.

1. Restore chewing function like natural teeth

Full-arch implants are firmly anchored into the jawbone, allowing you to chew comfortably without worrying about looseness like with traditional dentures.
You can enjoy all types of food, including hard or chewy items, without any difficulty.

2. Prevent jawbone loss

Long-term tooth loss leads to jawbone resorption, causing facial aging and deformation. Full-arch implant treatment stimulates jawbone growth, effectively preventing bone loss and helping your face maintain a youthful appearance.

3. Long lifespan, long-term use

Made from durable titanium, dental implants can last 20–30 years, or even a lifetime with proper care. This makes them a cost-effective long-term solution compared to removable dentures, which require periodic replacement.

4. High aesthetic value

Teeth placed on implant posts are designed to look natural, matching the shape and color of real teeth. This allows you to smile confidently without worrying about visible signs of tooth loss, unlike traditional dentures.

5. Improve quality of life

With strong and aesthetic teeth, you’ll feel more confident in communication, enjoy clearer speech, and fully embrace life. This is not only a dental restoration solution but also a comprehensive improvement to your overall health and well-being.

Key factors for a successful dental implant treatment

Dental implant placement is an optimal solution for all cases of tooth loss—from a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth, to full-arch tooth loss. This method restores the natural tooth root, ensuring long-term chewing function and aesthetic results.

Indications for Dental Implant Placement

  • Single tooth loss, multiple missing teeth in different positions, or full-arch tooth loss.

  • Teeth extracted due to tooth decay, trauma, or periodontal disease.

  • Adequate jawbone volume for implant placement, or the ability to undergo additional bone grafting if needed.

  • Patients who do not want fixed dental bridges (which require grinding adjacent teeth) or removable dentures.

  • Adults with stable oral health and overall good general health.

Why should you choose dental implants at Phương Thành Dental Clinic?

  • Implant specialists with advanced training and experience in thousands of successful cases.

  • Application of modern technologies such as Cone Beam CT 3D, CAD/CAM, and digital implant systems for precise positioning and maximum safety.

  • Use of premium, internationally certified implant fixtures with high durability and excellent biocompatibility.

  • Highly aesthetic restorations that look natural while ensuring perfect bite alignment and optimal chewing function.

Post-Implant Care and Oral Hygiene

  • Take all medications exactly as prescribed by your Oral and Maxillofacial specialist.

  • During the first 2–3 days, mild bleeding may occur. During this time, avoid frequent rinsing or spitting.

  • In case of heavy bleeding, place a folded sterile gauze pad over the area and bite down firmly, then apply an ice pack externally.

  • If swelling occurs, use an ice pack on the cheek. Apply for about 5 minutes, then rest for 5 minutes to avoid cold burns.

  • Sutures may dissolve on their own after about 2 weeks or be removed after approximately 12 days, depending on your dentist’s instructions.

You can book an appointment online with Phuong Thanh Dental Clinic through the following platforms: our Website, Facebook, Zalo OA, and TikTok.

You should visit the dental clinic for a routine check-up every 6 months. This helps maintain good oral hygiene and allows early detection of dental problems or early-stage oral lesions.

In fact, orthodontic treatment is not only for adults. According to dental experts, ages 6–10 are considered the “golden period” for orthodontic evaluation and early intervention. Early check-ups help detect and correct bite misalignments, allowing a child’s facial structure to develop more harmoniously.

Porcelain veneers may be recommended in the following cases:

Severely discolored front teeth that cannot be whitened

Old fillings that have changed color

Teeth with worn edges, cracks, or chips

Uneven, damaged adjacent teeth or front teeth

Gaps, short teeth, mild misalignment, or spacing that is not too large

Butterfly-shaped front teeth

Dental implant placement is generally not painful, as local anesthesia is used during the procedure. After the anesthesia wears off, the dentist will prescribe pain relief and medications to support healing. Each implant placement typically takes about 15 minutes per implant post.

The lifespan of porcelain crowns depends on several factors:

Material: All-ceramic crowns are usually more durable than metal-ceramic crowns.

Technique: A skilled dentist ensures proper fit and strong bonding.

Care: Proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups help extend the lifespan of crowns.

There are two common types of porcelain crowns: metal-ceramic crowns and all-ceramic crowns.

Metal-ceramic crowns: Over time, the outer porcelain layer may wear down from chewing. The metal core can oxidize and become visible, causing dark gum lines.

All-ceramic crowns: This issue rarely occurs because there is no metal core, helping maintain a more natural appearance without dark gum lines.

If a tooth is broken or extracted, you should not delay tooth replacement—even if the cost is high or the missing tooth is not visible.

When a tooth is lost, adjacent teeth tend to shift into the empty space, making future tooth replacement more difficult. This movement can also affect jaw structure and eventually alter your facial appearance.

To prevent reduced effectiveness or complications from local anesthesia, you should avoid alcohol and beer for at least one day before treatment. You should also inform your dentist about any medications you are taking and any known drug allergies.

You can help prevent tooth decay by following these measures:

Visit the dental clinic for routine check-ups every 6 months.

Limit consumption of sweets, candies, sugary foods, and carbonated drinks. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash after consuming sweets or soft drinks. If mouthwash is not available, drink some water instead.

Avoid drinking soft drinks, fruit juices, or similar beverages before bedtime or after brushing your teeth. At night, saliva production decreases, allowing these drinks to erode tooth enamel. You should only drink plain water before bed.
