Dental Implants

Dental implant treatment (also known as implant placement or implant surgery) is currently the most advanced method for restoring missing teeth. It involves placing an implant post into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth root, thereby restoring chewing function and maintaining the aesthetics of your smile. Many patients who have chosen implant services at Phương Thành Dental Clinic have been completely satisfied with both their treatment experience and results—enjoying better eating, healthier living, and a significantly improved quality of life.

Implant Fixture (Implant Post)

The part that is surgically placed into the jawbone. It is designed with a screw-like shape similar to a bolt. Essentially, the implant fixture is made from pure titanium, with a specially treated surface that allows bone cells to attach to it, creating strong biological integration with the body.

Who Should Consider Dental Implants?

Full-arch dental implant treatment is an advanced solution for people who have lost all or nearly all of the teeth in one jaw. However, not everyone is suitable for this procedure. Below are the appropriate candidates and required conditions:

  • Patients who have lost teeth and want a fixed restoration without grinding healthy natural teeth.

  • People who have lost teeth and do not want to use removable dentures, especially when the remaining teeth are not strong enough to support a dental bridge or in cases of multiple missing teeth.

  • Patients who need tooth replacement and wish to preserve the jawbone, preventing bone loss in areas where teeth have been lost. Dental implants are small screw-shaped fixtures, approximately the size of a natural tooth root, made from titanium—a material with excellent biocompatibility with human bone

Dental Implants
Maximum Safety, Outstanding Results

Dental implant placement is currently the most advanced solution for treating tooth loss, offering outstanding advantages that overcome the limitations of traditional tooth replacement methods and bring greater benefits to patients in need of tooth restoration.

In the past, there were two common methods to restore missing teeth: removable dentures and dental bridges. Today, with the rapid advancement of modern medicine, tooth restoration has reached a new level with an innovative solution — dental implant placement.

Dental implant placement does not cause jawbone resorption
Implant teeth are strong like natural teeth and offer natural aesthetics
The dental implant procedure causes minimal discomfort
Preserves the health of surrounding natural teeth
Extremely convenient for oral hygiene
Implants help permanently stabilize replacement teeth
Maintains natural facial structure without deformation
Implant teeth allow you to eat comfortably

Important Factors for Successful Dental Implant Placement

Dental implant treatment is an optimal solution for all cases of tooth loss, from a single tooth and multiple teeth to full-arch tooth loss. This method restores the natural tooth root, ensuring long-term chewing function and aesthetic results.

Indications for Dental Implant Placement

  • Loss of a single tooth, multiple scattered teeth, or full-arch tooth loss

  • Teeth extracted due to tooth decay, trauma, or periodontal disease

  • Sufficient jawbone volume for implant placement, or suitability for additional bone grafting

  • Patients who do not wish to use fixed dental bridges (which require grinding adjacent teeth) or removable dentures

  • Adults with stable overall health and good oral health

Why Choose Dental Implants at Phuong Thanh Dental Clinic?

  • Implant specialists with advanced qualifications and experience in thousands of successful cases

  • Application of Cone Beam CT 3D, CAD/CAM, and digital implant technology for precise positioning and maximum safety

  • Use of high-quality, internationally standardized implant systems with high durability and optimal biocompatibility

  • Natural-looking aesthetic restorations, ensuring proper bite alignment and excellent chewing function

Post-Implant Care and Oral Hygiene

  • Take medications exactly as prescribed by the Oral and Maxillofacial specialist.

  • Mild bleeding may occur during the first 2–3 days. During this time, avoid frequent rinsing or spitting.

  • In case of heavy bleeding, fold a piece of sterile gauze, bite down firmly on it, and apply an ice pack externally.

  • If swelling occurs, apply a cold compress to the cheek. When using an ice pack, apply for about 5 minutes, then rest for 5 minutes to avoid cold burns.

  • Sutures may dissolve on their own after about 2 weeks or be removed after approximately 12 days, depending on the dentist’s instructions.

You can book an appointment online with Phuong Thanh Dental Clinic through the following platforms: our Website, Facebook, Zalo OA, and TikTok.

You should visit the dental clinic for a routine check-up every 6 months. This helps maintain good oral hygiene and allows early detection of dental problems or early-stage oral lesions.

In fact, orthodontic treatment is not only for adults. According to dental experts, ages 6–10 are considered the “golden period” for orthodontic evaluation and early intervention. Early check-ups help detect and correct bite misalignments, allowing a child’s facial structure to develop more harmoniously.

Porcelain veneers may be recommended in the following cases:

Severely discolored front teeth that cannot be whitened

Old fillings that have changed color

Teeth with worn edges, cracks, or chips

Uneven, damaged adjacent teeth or front teeth

Gaps, short teeth, mild misalignment, or spacing that is not too large

Butterfly-shaped front teeth

Dental implant placement is generally not painful, as local anesthesia is used during the procedure. After the anesthesia wears off, the dentist will prescribe pain relief and medications to support healing. Each implant placement typically takes about 15 minutes per implant post.

The lifespan of porcelain crowns depends on several factors:

Material: All-ceramic crowns are usually more durable than metal-ceramic crowns.

Technique: A skilled dentist ensures proper fit and strong bonding.

Care: Proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups help extend the lifespan of crowns.

There are two common types of porcelain crowns: metal-ceramic crowns and all-ceramic crowns.

Metal-ceramic crowns: Over time, the outer porcelain layer may wear down from chewing. The metal core can oxidize and become visible, causing dark gum lines.

All-ceramic crowns: This issue rarely occurs because there is no metal core, helping maintain a more natural appearance without dark gum lines.

If a tooth is broken or extracted, you should not delay tooth replacement—even if the cost is high or the missing tooth is not visible.

When a tooth is lost, adjacent teeth tend to shift into the empty space, making future tooth replacement more difficult. This movement can also affect jaw structure and eventually alter your facial appearance.

To prevent reduced effectiveness or complications from local anesthesia, you should avoid alcohol and beer for at least one day before treatment. You should also inform your dentist about any medications you are taking and any known drug allergies.

You can help prevent tooth decay by following these measures:

Visit the dental clinic for routine check-ups every 6 months.

Limit consumption of sweets, candies, sugary foods, and carbonated drinks. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash after consuming sweets or soft drinks. If mouthwash is not available, drink some water instead.

Avoid drinking soft drinks, fruit juices, or similar beverages before bedtime or after brushing your teeth. At night, saliva production decreases, allowing these drinks to erode tooth enamel. You should only drink plain water before bed.
